Yorkshire Dales Wedding Hair & Makeup is run by sisters Jill and Jayne, who have been helping brides achieve their dream wedding looks since 1992. As full-time wedding professionals, they are available seven days a week, dedicated exclusively to styling brides for their special day.

How did you begin your business?  

My Sister and I began our business in 1992 opening a salon covering all aspects of hair and beauty work. We always loved our wedding work so decided to become full time wedding professionals.

We got fully involved with the wedding industry because of geography. We live very close to Bolton Abbey, Barden and Burnsall. We have a dozen amazing wedding venues within half an hour travel time.

What makes your services unique? And do you have a speciality? 

The service we offer is unique. We can offer both hair and makeup to our bridal parties. My Sister and I always work together but we also have three wonderful hair and makeup experts that work with us when we have a larger wedding party or an early wedding and people don’t want makeup applying before 7am! We specialise in natural bridal hair & MUA, making your hair and skin looks its healthiest and at it's best.

What can a couple expect from you in the build up to big day? 

Good communication. Often most of our planning is done over email, on the phone or sending pics back and forth on WhatsApp. If you choose to have a trial, we plan a couple of hours together with our team, and this way we can make you as comfortable as possible whilst you are with us, then we feel it makes the wedding morning nicer!

We ask all our suppliers this, what is your favourite part of a wedding day?

The favourite part of our day is setting up when we arrive . Everyone is tense and then we arrive and start putting the first curl in and the fun of the morning starts. The hours getting ready are sometimes a third of the whole wedding day and make memories for the bride with her friends and family that last a lifetime.

Can you advise your booking process?

To book with us we ask for details of what you would like, how many people, venue etc. We will then offer you a quote for our costs. For you to book with us, we ask for a deposit of £60.00. This is then deducted from your final bill. Once we have secured your date into our diary, we will have an initial chat on the telephone and then start the planning together!

Are you appearing at any wedding fairs, where our couples can meet your team in person? 

We love to go to wedding fairs! It’s always lovely for us to get the opportunity to meet couples in person and meet other wedding professionals and we have found they are happy events to be part of, meeting couples often at the very start of their planning. This year unfortunately we haven’t had much opportunity due to time, as we have had so many weddings booked in, but watch this space!
